ABOUT

 

Deputy Rector of Internationalisation and Joint Study Programmes and Coordinator of the Master Degree Study programme in Food Science and Technology.

She is Internal tutor of  ESR1 : Development of encapsulated olive oil and olive extracts as innovative natural and health food ingredient.

 

 

 

EDUCATION and ACADEMIC EXPERIENCE

 

  • 2016: PhD degree in Nanotechnology (University of Trieste, IT).
  • From November 2013 she is deputy Rector for Internationalisation and Joint degreeprogrammes of the University of Teramo.
  • December 2004 - 2013 she was appointed Associate Professor of Food Technology at the Faculty of Bioscience and Technology for Food, Agriculture and Environment (formerly Agricultural Faculty, University of Teramo and Dipartimento di Scienze degli Alimenti), University of Teramo.
  • December 1995- November 2001 she collaborated as researcher and assistant professor at the Department of Food Science of the University of Udine in the Food Technology Research Unit.
  • 1989 Master Degree on Food Science and Technology at the University of Udine.
 

 

 

RESEARCH ACTIVITY

 

Research activity is focused on some aspects of food processing and preservation from animal and vegetable raw materials as well as food formulation. On this field Paola Pittia focused her studies on the physical, chemico-physical and rheological properties of foods and their changes as a consequence of processing and storage conditions.
Studies have been carried out until 2004 at the Dipartimento di Scienze degli Alimenti, University of Udine and from the January 2005 at the Dipartimento di Scienze degli Alimenti, University of Teramo where she works at present as Associate Professor.
